Collegium Botswana

Collegium, publishers of school textbooks in Botswana, was launched by Dr Musa Shezi in 2000/1 in partnership with Botswana stakeholders who own 44 per cent of the business and Nasou Via Afrika the remaining 56 per cent. Since its inception with zero per cent market share Collegium has dramatically increased its market share to over 40 per cent, making it one of the biggest publishers in Botswana. It also has more than a 60 per cent market share in the new grades 3, 4 and 7 syllabuses for all subjects that were introduced this year. Managing director Soso Ruth says the success is based on excellent products and marketing coupled with sound management.
