Sake24 editor scoops top prize

Three Sake24 editorial staff members recently won prizes at the annual Citadel Words on Money Awards for financial journalism. Managing editor David van Rooyen was named overall winner for his series of articles on the Sharemax debacle and investments in property syndicates. A previous category winner, this is the first time David has been crowned overall winner. He was also a finalist in the analysis and opinion and consumer information categories. Sake24 property writer Elma Kloppers was named winner in the breaking news (print media) category for her articles on the Katota property scandal where investors lost millions. Niel Joubert was named winner in the consumer information category for his articles on the banking fees war. He was also a finalist in the newcomer of the year and best feature categories.
