Kwela Books titles in the running for UJ prizes

Two works published by Kwela Books have been shortlisted for the University of Johannesburg prizes for creative writing. The Lazarus Effect by HJ Golakai, which is also in the running for the Sunday Times Fiction Prize, has been shortlisted in the debut category and Home-making for the Down-at-Heart by Finuala Dowling is vying for the main prize.

The winner of the UJ Prize will walk off with R65 000, while the prize money for the UJ Debut Prize is R25 000. The prizes will be presented at a gala ceremony later in the year.
