Afrikaans music wins big at Huisgenoot-Tempo awards

This year's Huisgenoot-Tempo awards event was glitzier and better than ever. The winners in 17 music categories were announced recently at Tempo's gala event after about 200 000 Afrikaans music fans voted for their favourites. Bobby van Jaarsveld was voted the best male artist and his older sister, Karlien, best female artist. She was also the winner in the best song of the year category with her hit Jakkals Trou met Wolf Se Vrou. This year the winners were selected by a bigger panel headed by Johan Stemmet of Noot vir Noot fame. Click here to see all the winners. The gala event will be broadcast on kykNET soon.
