Two NB authors short-listed for Wole Soyinka Prize

The short list for the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa 2012 was released on Monday. Bridget Pitt was selected for her novel, The Unseen Leopard (Human & Rousseau), and Sifiso Mzobe for his debut novel, Young Blood (Kwela Books). The other candidate is Nigerian Akachi Ezeigbo, author of Roses and Bullets. In The Unseen Leopard, Sam Campbell focuses all her energy on raising her late sister Melissa's little boy. Young Blood is about 17-year-old Sipho who is involved in a car hijacking in Umlazi, Durban. The winner will be announced on 8 September in Nigeria.
